We thought our baby would get bored without screens… but the opposite started happening. Since Christian was born, we’ve chosen not to use phones, tablets, cartoons, or TV to entertain him. In this video, we share what screen-free parenting with a young baby looks like in our everyday life and some of the simple baby activities and traditional toys that keep him interested without digital entertainment. Christian can spend time watching trees, listening to everyday sounds, studying his hands, exploring different textures, and playing with simple baby toys. This time, one soft sensory book became much more interesting than we expected. He grabbed it, explored the fabric, played peekaboo with it, and eventually decided it needed the official baby taste test too. 😂 For our family, screen-free play is less about constantly finding new ways to entertain Christian and more about giving him time to explore ordinary things at his own pace. We want him to experience people, nature, sounds, textures, toys, and real-world interaction before screens become a bigger part of his life. We’re first-time parents and we’re learning alongside Christian, so this isn’t about telling other families how they should parent. We’re simply documenting our experience with baby screen time, screen-free parenting, sensory play, simple baby toys, and everyday life with our little one.
